Hospital patient transport tracking
A web platform and an app to manage and track patient transport inside hospitals: from the ward’s request to delivery, in real time.
The starting point
In a hospital, patients move constantly: from the emergency department to radiology, from a ward to the operating theatre. Formula Servizi runs this service with teams of operators coordinated by a control room.
Phone calls and paper were no longer enough: they needed to know at any moment which transports were requested, who was handling them and where the teams were, keeping a record of every step.
How it works
- 1The ward requestsFrom its own login it sets destination, priority, equipment and any return trip.
- 2The control room confirmsIt completes date and time and assigns the mission to a team.
- 3The team carries it outWith the app it scans the QR codes of departure, patient and arrival, adding notes when needed.
- 4Everything is trackedStatus, times and notes for every mission, and free teams waiting at the holding area.
One platform, three points of view
The app for the teams
At the start of a shift the team opens a work session with its two operators. From there it sees the assigned missions, urgent ones first, and completes them by scanning the QR codes of locations and patient.
When the control room is closed, for example at night in the emergency department, the team can create a mission on its own. The app also works with an unstable connection, and the control room can see which devices are online.
What changes
Requests arrive in a single place, the control room always knows who is doing what, and every transport leaves a complete record: who requested it, when it left, when it arrived and what happened in between. Fewer phone calls, less waiting and reliable data to organise the service.
